Children First Program is an educational, court approved
program designed for parents with minor children who are going through a divorce/custody procedure. It is also appropriate for extended families or caregivers
concerned about the well-being of the children of divorce. The purpose
of the program is the prevention of mental trauma to minor children who
are thrust into the conflicts of divorce. Experience has shown that divorce often
includes a variety of conflicts between spouses that can continue well
beyond the legal divorce. When parental conflict is present, children
are adversely affected and may suffer for long periods of time. We know
that when parents work to develop cooperative plans in the best interest
of their children that children can continue to grow and develop in positive
ways. |
