Guardian Advocacy is a service offered by the Mental Health Association that provides
a voice and a person to stand beside those persons who are involuntarily
held for psychiatric treatment. The
program protects the rights of the mentally ill through MHA representation
at Baker Act hearings, local advocacy council, legislative support, individual
assistance and special awareness activities. This
service is staffed by trained volunteers and we are always looking for caring people to help for this worthwhile service. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please call (386) 252-5785.
